Laser therapy applied to reduce scars of various etiology

Abstract
Facial located scars, regardless of their etiology, are very common cosmetic defect to cope with. Viral diseases such as chickenpox and cold sores, surgeries or even venacne vulgaris can leave permanent marks on the surface of the skin as a results of dermis reduction and its replacement by fibrous connective tissue. Identification of scar morphology and choice of the most effective method for therapy is extremely important to achieve the best therapethical result.
The aim of this study was to answer the question whether laser therapy is an effective method in reduction of scars of various etiology. The subject of the discussion were test results of research on ablative fractional lasers, photo thermolysis, non-ablative lasers and mix techniques with the use of various types of lasers and lasers combined with other therapeutic methods.
